Special Voter Database Program Available

To help candidates, researchers, etc., we can provide copies of the voter registration database on disk for a nominal charge. For a little bit more, we have a special disk available with a program that allows the user to easily create their own custom lists and labels, or do special look ups based on various criteria (election districts, affiliation, voter history, etc.) Call our office for more info, or see brochure.

Redistricting

Starting in 2013 the whole county will be in the 23rd Congressional District. Towns that were in the 53rd NY Senate District (City of Ithaca, Towns of Ithaca, Enfield, Newfield and Ulysses) will be in the 58th. Caroline, Danby, Dryden and Groton are still in the 51st, and Lansing is still in the 54th. For more info go to County Redistricting page.

There will also be some readjustments of election districts due to the above changes. The new maps should be available by the end of April. Here is a preview of new City Ward lines.

Did You Know?

Q: How do I change my party affiliation?
A: Registered voters may apply for a change of enrollment personally at the Board of Elections or via mail by the last day of local registration of the year, which is 25 days before the General election. (In 2013 the cut off is October 11.) The new enrollment becomes effective one week after the November General Election of that year. If you make the change less than 25 days before the General election, the change goes into effect one week after the next year's General election.
